DFCM Piscano Scholars

Kristen Kelly and Bridget Harris, UCSF fourth year medical students and active members of the UCSF Family Medicine Interest Group, have been selected as recipients of the prestigious Pisacano Scholarships for medical students planning careers in family medicine. This is a nationally competitive, much-coveted scholarship award. It is extremely unusual to have two students from the same medical selected as recipients in the same year. The Pisacano Scholars are a unique group of physicians-in-training who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the specialty of family medicine. The Scholars are selected through an extremely competitive process during their final years of medical school based on their potential as future leaders of the specialty of family medicine.  Each Scholar has shown demonstrable leadership skills, superior academic achievement, strong communication skills, identifiable character and integrity, and a noteworthy level of community service. Kristen and Bridget have demonstrated these exceptional qualities as UCSF medical students.

The Department of Family and Community medicine offers our congratulations to both Kristen and Bridget! We look forward to their continued success and leadership in Family Medicine.
