General
After attending college at Stanford University and medical school at New York Medical College, I pursued residency training at UCLA. Having participated in research throughout my undergraduate and graduate years, I wanted to continue my involvement in research-related activities. I sought out primary care research fellowships and happily moved to San Francisco to begin the program at UCSF. During that year, I took coursework related to conducting clinical trials and cost-effectiveness analyses. I learned acupuncture and wrote a research project proposal for using acupuncture to address menopausal symptoms. During my fellowship I also spent one month in Washington, D.C. at the Robert Graham Center (AAFP Policy Studies in Family Practice and Primary Care) and participated in research evaluating the length and content of family practice residency training. This research was later published in the Journal of the American Board of Family Practice. After the fellowship I accepted a position at the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center where I have clinical (40%), administrative (30%), teaching (20%), and research (10%) responsibilities. I have a clinical faculty position at the UCLA Department of Family Medicine where I am involved in teaching medical students. My research is mainly related to quality improvement at the clinic. Currently I am taking evening and weekend courses at the UCLA Anderson School of Management towards getting a MBA degree (Fully-Employed MBA program).
