Areas of Interest
  • Social disparities in health: Applying epidemiological methods in order to better understand social disparities in health, particularly those relating to socioeconomic and racial/ethnic disparities in health in the U.S.
  • Neighborhood context and health: Specific concerns include investigating how neighborhood environments (e.g., residential segregation, availability of goods and services) may explain social disparities in health using contextual analytic methods for the purpose of informing policy.
  • Measurement of socioeconomic status/position: Expertise in the conceptualization and measurement of socioeconomic status/position and how that conceptualization and measurement affects the interpretation of racial/ethnic disparities in health.
