Faculty Development Training Program

The UCSF Faculty Development Fellowship Program offers an innovative one-year professional development fellowship jointly sponsored by the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco and the Department of Family Practice at the University of California at Davis. Ten fellows participate annually in an integrated, multi-component curriculum which emphasizes:

  • an intensive, year long Faculty Development Course held in the San Francisco Bay Area;
  • a Practicum based at the fellow's residency site;
  • and a Scholarly Project selected by the fellow within an area of expertise.

Applicants must be sponsored by their residency or fellowship program directors. First priority will be given to faculty who currently hold or are entering full-time teaching positions at one of the residency programs in the UCSF or UCD Residency Networks. We also welcome applications from Family Physicians who are participating in a teaching or research fellowship sponsored by the Family Medicine departments at UCSF or UCD. If spaces are available, we will consider applicants from other Family Medicine departments in the Western United States. We place priority on recruitment of women and underrepresented minorities.
